Nobel Peace Prize winner Kailash Satyarthi has been at the forefront of the global movement to end child slavery and exploitative child labor since 1980. Child labor is a human rights issue that has staggering effects on poverty, illiteracy and humanity. Mr. Satyarthi founded Bachpan Bachao Andolan (Save the Childhood Movement), which has liberated more than 87,000 children from exploitation and developed a successful model for their education and rehabilitation, and was a founder of the Global Campaign for Education, the worldwide civil society movement which works to end the global education crisis. He is a former Board Member of the Global Partnership for Education.
