Alexandra Humme has more than 15 years of experience in international development and communications. Prior to joining the GPE Secretariat, she worked in the World Bank's External Affairs Department on web governance issues, internal communications and collaboration. During a 4.5 year long assignment to India, she coordinated the knowledge and learning programs of the World Bank Institute (WBI) in several South Asian countries. She then joined WBI's communications team in Washington focusing on strategic communications and online engagement leading a small web team. Her career at WBI began as a Partnership Specialist responsible for donor relations. Alexandra started development work at the United Nations in the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs working on humanitarian emergencies in Central and East Africa. Prior to embarking into international development, Alexandra worked as a journalist and TV producer and editor. She holds a Masters degree in Political Sciences.
