Liesbeth Roolvink

Liesbeth Roolvink has been working in education for more than 25 years, most of this time in lower income countries. During her professional career she has acquired extensive experience in the development and management of complex education programs and projects in various countries in Europe, Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, South America and the Caribbean.

Liesbeth is currently employed by Sightsavers as Deputy Technical Director, overseeing the global inclusive education portfolio and providing strategic direction. She worked for several other international development organizations including UNICEF, World Bank/Global Partnership for Education, UNESCO, World Education and VSO. Her areas of expertise include system strengthening, building partnerships, rights-and evidence-based programming, participatory leadership and project management, access and quality of basic education, and capacity building and empowerment.

Liesbeth holds a master’s degree in education, specialized in Education Policy & Governance, and Special Needs/Inclusive Education. She is also a qualified primary school teacher.
