Eva Grambye is Deputy Executive Director of the Danish Institute for Human Rights and head of the Institute’s International Division. The Danish Institute for Human Rights is an independent state-funded institution that promotes and protect human rights and equal treatment in Denmark and abroad. Mrs. Grambye previously served as a diplomat with the Danish Embassy in Washington, DC, in charge of the Development Policy Department, which included Denmark’s organizational relations to the World Bank. Preceding this posting, Mrs. Grambye was Head of Section in the Humanitarian Department. Mrs. Grambye spent five years in Geneva as First Secretary at the Danish Mission to the United Nations where she was responsible for human rights issues. She was the lead negotiator on the Resolution on Combating Torture presented to the Commission on Human Rights by the Danish Government.
