September 2018 – The Global Partnership for Education Secretariat approved the following grant:

US$200,000 to prepare a new education program in Djibouti

Description: The program development grant (PDG) will support Djibouti prepare a US$25 million project (co-financed between the World Bank and GPE). The PDG will also help procure technical assistance to provide inputs for the revision and extension of the operational plan (2017-2019) of the education sector plan (2010-2019).

The grant will be implemented through the collaboration between the World Bank, a key partner of the Global Partnership for Education, as grant agent and the Government of Djibouti.

UNICEF has been nominated by the local education group to serve as coordinating agency in Djibouti.
