Partnering for Education in Somalia
Education partners in Somalia recently came together to review jointly for the first time the education sector plans of Somaliland and Puntland.

Earlier this month, education partners joined the ministries of education in Somaliland and Puntland, Somalia, to participate in the first joint reviews of the regions' education sector plans, which were developed in 2012. This is the first time that education strategies have been prepared in Somalia since the start of the civil war in 1991. It will mean that more children like these two boys from a primary school in Garowe, Puntland, will be able to go to school and learn. The Global Partnership for Education has provided grants to Somalia for a total of $14.5 million.
