To reach the Education 2030 Agenda goals, it is essential that equitable teacher deployment is part of improvement strategies so that no child, regardless of their geographical location or which school they attend, is deprived of learning opportunities. UNESCO's International Institute for Education Planning (IIEP) Pôle de Dakar organized two regional workshops to exchange best practices in teacher deployment.
Participants acknowledged that disparities in resources in teacher allocation are more prominent in rural areas. They explored several solutions including defining a regulatory framework for the teaching profession, as well as standardizing processes to allow for changes in teacher management so that countries can adapt in evolving education environments.
