World Bank commits N31.6 million to education in Nigeria
The World Bank, in collaboration with GPE, released N31.6 million to the education authority in Katsina, Nigeria, to improve 22 primary schools and award 423 students with scholarships.
A recent survey by the World Bank and UNICEF in the area indicated that a great percentage of out-of-school children were girls. Thus, the program is putting an emphasis on girls' education with the expectation that parents will use the money to buy school supplies and learning materials for their children.
