During a meeting at the ministry of Education, Science and Technology on August 6, the minister launched the project called "Revitalizing Education Development in Sierra Leone", with support from development partners, including the Global Partnership for Education.

The project will bring additional resources to help remove ’informal’ charges in primary schools, give additional support to local councils with low levels of educational facilities (including building more structures), provide textbooks to classes 1-3 pupils in government-owned and government-assisted schools nationwide, and start a school-feeding programs countrywide.
