Tanzania: Grand STD 1, 2 Plan Takes Off

A NATIONAL programme aimed at raising the level of reading, writing and numeracy skills among Standard One and Two pupils countrywide was launched in Dar es Salaam over the weekend.

The three-year Literacy and Numeracy Support Programme, whose implementation started in the 2014/2015 through 2016/2017 financial year, targets children at the age of between five and 13 years in the formal and informal education system.
