We are pleased to announce the launch our new online portal for country partners.

The portal provides essential information on GPE as a global and country-level partnership, and specific resources for each stakeholder group that engages in GPE processes in partner countries:

  • governments/ministries of education
  • bilateral and multilateral organizations
  • civil society
  • the teaching profession
  • private foundations
  • private sector organizations
  • coordinating agencies
  • grant agents.

The objective of the portal is to facilitate a more uniform understanding of how GPE can add value in country-level policy dialogue, sector processes and implementation – both through the GPE as a fund and as a partnership.

For each type of partner, visitors to the portal will get a short overview of roles and responsibilities; they will be able to watch testimonial videos from others who have played that role and access a variety of relevant resources.

This work was born from a request by the GPE Board of Directors to build a more effective partnership. In December 2018, the Board adopted 4 principles to do so:

  1. Increase decentralized mutual accountability
  2. Drive national ownership and strengthen government capacity
  3. Rebalance the country-level model to strengthen the focus on policy dialogue and implementation
  4. Reduce transaction costs.

These principles have informed the development of the new GPE strategy and operating model (GPE 2025).

Successful implementation of GPE 2025 relies on awareness among country-level stakeholders on the basic elements of GPE, including its aspirations, how the partnership works to achieve its goals and objectives, and roles, responsibilities and accountabilities of partners.

Tell us what you think of the portal

We are grateful to all partners who have provided comments on this work over the past year, and especially to those who have recorded videos to share their perspectives. We welcome other testimonial videos from partners with experience with GPE processes in countries. To express interest, please contact us.

We look forward to working with partners to continually improve the content of the portal. You can add comments to this blog or send feedback to @email.
