Overview: This side event at the ECOSOC Youth Forum will share best practices on engaging young people in developing programs and solutions directed towards ensuring quality education, skilling initiatives and access to decent jobs (SDG 8) by promoting the Public-Private-Youth Partnership (PPYP) model (SDG 17) with a focus on green jobs and sustainable economies.
By focusing on youth centrality as a key enabler to achieve SDGs 8 and 17, this event will:
- Promote youth centrality: Advancing promising approaches to meaningful and inclusive youth engagement and placing youth at the center of all stages of programming of educational programs and skilling initiatives, ensuring that these programs and initiatives are co-created with, for, and by young people.
- Sharing best practices: Highlight successful Public-Private-Youth Partnership (PPYP) that have effectively improved educational outcomes and created pathways to decent employment for youth.
- Facilitate intergenerational and intersectoral partnerships: Promote collaboration between youth and stakeholders across both public and private sectors to scale innovative solutions that are led and co-created by young people, scaling up their impact and reach in addressing the future of work and essential skill requirements.
