Today, UN leaders will commit to achieving 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development. Building on the progress of the Millennium Development Goals adopted in 2000, these new goals represent a vision for a future without extreme poverty or inequality and injustice, and in which real action has been taken to curb climate change.

Goal 4 aims to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all” by 2030. However, quality education for all is not just a goal in itself, but it is also essential to the achievement of all of the other goals.
