Inclusion of refugees in national education system

Inclusion of refugees in national education system

This is the theme of a spotlight session to be held on Tuesday 17 December 2019 during the first Global Refugee Forum taking place on December in Geneva, Switzerland.

The session will give specific examples of different approaches that have made the inclusion of refugee, asylum seeking and displaced children and youth in national education systems a reality. It presents good practices and innovative country-led initiatives that illustrate policy implementation at national and local levels.

It will also discuss forward-looking approaches and practices, which governments and organizations undertake to address barriers to inclusion and speed up progress in aligning humanitarian response with sustainable development programming.

Alice Albright, GPE’s CEO, will be taking part to this session as a panelist.
