GPE is thrilled to introduce this year’s Youth Jury.

Youth jury

The Youth Jury Award was initiated by the GPE and the Human Rights Film Festival Berlin to enable more participation of young generations in fundamental socio-political issues and to make their voices heard.

For two weeks, 16- to 25-year-olds interested in politics and film were able to apply for a seat in the Youth Jury. From numerous compelling applications, three winners were chosen, who will join singer, actress, GPE ambassador Alli Neumann and GPE youth leader and actor Jess Mukeba as members of the Human Rights Film Festival Youth Jury 2023.

  • Johann Maria Kressin, freelance photo and videographer
  • Vito Madita Wegner, student
  • Hannah Schönefeld, freelance filmmaker, student

The Human Rights Film Festival Berlin focuses on stories from all parts of the world that vividly address and reflect on human action, the socio-political status quo and fundamental issues such as democracy, justice, freedom, and environmental protection.

Through discussions and Q&As with filmmakers, activists and experts, the festival creates a platform to gain new perspectives on our world.

GPE is cooperating for the second year with the HRFFB and contributes to a festival which promises to be a powerful convergence of voices of politics, pop culture and activism.
