Japan contributes to South Sudan's education through GPE
Japan is providing a new assistance package of US$25 million to South Sudan in partnership with international organizations like the Global Partnership for Education, through which US$1.5 million of this aid will be dispensed to support the implementation of the country's education sector plan.
A ceasefire continues to hold in most parts of the country and the economic situations are improving, however an estimated one-third of its population is displaced and in dire humanitarian conditions.
The international community must continue to support peace and stability in South Sudan, and invest in capacity building in order to increase resilience of its people.
