Zimbabwe receives US$10m to implement new curriculum

Zimbabwe has secured US$10 million to implement its new education curriculum, with US$7 million of this funding to be release by the Global Partnership for Education in early 2018. GPE and Zimbabwe have a long-standing cooperation to improve schooling in the country along with prioritizing training teachers and providing textbooks. In the 2018 national budget, the government allocated US$18 million towards the implementation of the new curriculum; and 156 schools will be built across the country based on need. A review of the new education curriculum’s implementation is under way and could lead to further adjustments.
