Carol Rask

Carol Rask is a development and human rights expert with over 30 years of experience in strategy development and capacity development on human rights and human rights-based approaches to development.  

Carol has supported organizations to develop policy frameworks and programming tools for mainstreaming human rights in their development work. She has formulated curriculum and training materials, and facilitated human rights and development workshops in Africa, Asia, Central Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.  Carol is currently Course Moderator for a Masters module on Human Rights and Development at the University of London.

Carol is an experienced evaluator, having carried out Mid-Term Reviews for a number of governance and human rights programmes in developing countries. She has contributed to research and documentation on human rights and development issues, including recent research together with the UK-based Institute for Development Studies (IDS) on how changes in civic freedoms affect development outcomes. 

At the Danish Institute for Human Rights, Carol is involved in policy work on the right to education, including human rights education, and supports the development of human rights capacity-building products and tools.

Carol holds a Master Degree in Human Rights from the University of Aarhus, Denmark.
