Umasree has over 20 years of experience in education. She has been a faculty in Jesus and Mary College, University of Delhi. India for the first ever innovative four-year professional undergraduate teacher education course for primary schools in the public sector. She joined UNICEF in 1999 and has a rich experience of working in humanitarian and development contexts and facilitating implementation of education programs. She has worked in India, Afghanistan, Mozambique. Currently she is the Chief of Education in Guinea-Bissau.
