Webinar: How Well does Numeracy Work in Low-income Countries?

Bill Atweh, former mathematics profession as Australian universities, presents the findings of a report on numeracy in low-income countries commissioned by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The research was conducted by academics representing a diversity of countries ranging from South Africa and India to the Philippines and Australia. The webinar discusses the following points:

1.    How can numeracy meet the demands of contexts and countries?
2.    What evidence exists about teaching numeracy and what are its limitations?
3.    What are the lessons learnt from teaching numeracy?
4.    Who is responsible for developing numeracy in low-income countries?
