June 2018 – The Global Partnership for Education Secretariat approved the following grant:

US$250,000 for Moldova to conduct a mid-term review of the current education sector strategy

In 2017 the government of Moldova commissioned an evaluation and mid-term review of the education sector strategy covering the years 2014-2020. The education sector plan development grant (ESPDG) for Moldova will be used to further support the analysis of the education strategy. Based on the results of the mid-term review, a decision to revise the current education plan or develop a new one will be made.

UNICEF has been nominated by the local education group to be the grant agent on behalf of the Government of Moldova.

Education Sector Plan Development Grants from the Global Partnership for Education are intended to help countries perform strategic, consultative and analytical work to develop or revise their sector plan. The maximum amount is US$500,000, of which US$250,000 is reserved for education sector analysis, and the remainder can be used for additional studies or to develop sector plan.
