2017 program development grant for Uzbekistan

December 2017 – The Global Partnership for Education Secretariat approved the following grant:

US$200,000 for Uzbekistan to develop ESPIG application

Description: The program development grant will support the preparation of Uzbekistan’s education sector program implementation grant proposal.

This grant will support the implementation of Uzbekistan’s next education program which consists of preparatory analytical work, consultations with stakeholders, and technical, fiduciary and safeguards assessments. The program will be implemented through the collaboration between the World Bank, a key partner of the Global Partnership for Education, as grant agent and the Government of Uzbekistan.

UNICEF has been nominated by the local education group to serve as coordinating agency in Uzbekistan.
