January 2018 – The Global Partnership for Education Secretariat approved the following grant:

US$17,400 for Cape Verde to support the education sector plan (ESP) key reforms

Description: The program development grant (PDG) will strengthen the program to apply for an education sector program implementation grant (ESPIG) in early 2018. The PDG will support the education plan key reforms including the universalization of preschool, universalization of basic education and follow-up of the ESP implementation.

The program will be implemented through the collaboration between UNICEF, a key partner of the Global Partnership for Education, as grant agent and the Government of Cape Verde.

UNICEF has also been nominated by the local education group to serve as coordinating agency in Cape Verde.
