I am devastated about the bombing last Saturday outside Sayed Al-Shuhada school in Kabul, Afghanistan, that killed 85 people and injured more than 140. Many victims were students, including schoolgirls.

My deepest condolences go to the families and communities affected by this heinous act. No child should ever have to live in fear of getting an education.

GPE remains strongly committed to supporting the Afghanistan government to provide quality education for all children, in particular those too often left behind like girls and children living in remote areas.
