Refat is the newly elected president of the Global Campaign for Education (GCE) and the General Secretary of the Arab Coalition for Education for All (ACEA). He is a steering committee member in ED 2030 leading by UNESCO. He has an extensive experience in the field of education as social actor.

Refaat Sabbah is the General Director (and founder) of the Teacher Creativity Center. The Center is part of a number of international initiatives, including the Global Campaign for Education (GCE) and Global Call to Action Against Poverty (GCAP). He is also the Chair of the Arab Network for Human Rights and Citizenship Education (ANHRE), and was elected to this position from among 75 members. Before that he was a member of The board of Arab Civiats ( an Arab network for civic education in the Arab world ). He got an honor PHD from  Almaref University for his work to support the education in Yemen.
