Phumzile Q. Magagula

Phumzile Q. Magaggula is employed by the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) planning Department as an Education Planning officer and Sector Coordinator in the Kingdom of Eswatini. She has over 10 years’ experience working in training and facilitation, Monitoring and evaluation of Educational Programs and has worked as both an educator and lecturer. Her responsibilities include managing and coordination of training sessions; including giving support to MoET sector heads, head teachers and the local education group (LEG) on Policy, Education Sector Plan development and Key performance indicators aimed at achieving the SDG 4 and 2030 Agenda.

Phumzile is also the Local Education Group/LEG Coordinator and sits in the Senior Management within the Ministry of Education, as its Secretary. She consistently presents reports and status updates to senior management and other heads of departments on progress towards project implementation. Phumzile a is skilled team player comfortable with working with various stakeholders, across government, UN agencies, and civil society and World Bank (part of the team to develop the Eswatini Education Sector Analysis 2021; part of the Lead team to develop country paper for Transforming education to UN assembly).

Phumzile has passion to help the underprivileged children which has seen her establish the “Mftombeni Foundation” in which she is the founder and co-Director. She is passionate about girl’s empowerment and education and the alleviation of poverty in communities and support needy children in school. She firmly believes that every child should have access to quality and equitable education. As a team player herself she strongly believes in team work and partnership. As a former teacher she is passionate to build the capacity of teachers/educators at all the levels of education.
