2016 Program Development Grant for Guinea Bissau

September 28, 2016 - The Global Partnership for Education Secretariat approved the following grant:

US$200,000 for Guinea Bissau to develop a new education program

Project Description: The Program Development Grant will allow Guinea Bissau to conduct further consultations on pre-identified activities during the development of the new education sector plan, conduct needs assessments on teacher training/professional development practices, the reinforcement of the school management practices/community involvement and the establishment of a national learning assessment strategy.

The program will finance the collaboration between the World Bank, a key partner of the Global Partnership for Education, and the Government of Guinea Bissau. The World Bank has been nominated by the local education group to manage the grant on behalf of the Government of Guinea Bissau.
