Alexandra Solano is an education specialist on the country support team at the GPE Secretariat. She has close to 10 years of international experience working in the education and social policy sectors. She previously worked for two years at the World Bank in an Early Childhood Development and Learning program that provides funds and technical assistance to education programs in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Before that, she spent three years as an education associate at a Latin American Think Tank, The Inter-American Dialogue, where she assisted in shaping education and social policy in Latin American countries. In Mexico, she worked for two years at the Ministry of Social Development in programs that targeted single working mothers and their young children. She has experience teaching preschool as well as primary and secondary school in rural and urban areas.
